The Future of Big Time College Football

College football has become a circus over the last year. The big story of course is all the trouble Reggie Bush caused, giving back the Heisman, USC's loss of scholarship's, and losing bowl privileges. Then of course North Carolina had to suspend fifteen players for allegedly accepting money from agents. There are numerous other suspensions that had to be given out this college football season for poor behavior as well. This concerns me because college football is my favorite sport. The reason I love it is, because the players are all still amateurs. It is not suppose to be the players job yet. The players play with more passion, and for the love of the game. The game is starting to lose all of the qualities that make it great. Because of all of the negative publicity that college football has gotten i have lost interest little a bit. I don't have a solution for the NCAA, but i hope they find one fast and can save  big time college football.

  1. I think the NCAA is doing everything is can to stop this ahead of time and i think that may be the one thing that helps save college football they can't have another Reggie Bush issue.

  3. I completely agree. I also feel as if that is happening in a lot of the sports especially when an athlete turns professional. The love of the sport or game now turns into how much money than can get by just stepping onto the field or court. One thing I cannot stand is how those athletes do not put out an effort then just jog on and off the playing court and if they mess up its like nothing to them. High school and college athletes put more dedication, time, hard work, and effort into it and are not getting paid to do so other than in their accomplishments.

  4. I think a lot of these stories that you hear about student athletes accepting money and gifts from agents or universities is wrong but in some cases I don’t blame the athletes, many of these athletes who do accept thing come from families who don’t have much and want to do whatever it take to make their families lives better. This may not be the case for every single one but if you were in their shoes and came from nothing and a simple signature could give them everything you would do it as well. As far as Reggie Bush goes everyone knows what he did but they also remember watching him on the field. he may not have a trophy but he’s still the 2005 Heisman in my eyes.
